Fredi Chiappelli Travel Fellowship

Established in honor of the Center's former director, Fredi Chiappelli, this award provides a $2,500 travel grant to assist with research in any area of Medieval and Renaissance Italian Studies. It is open to UCLA graduate students and travel is not restricted to Italy.

Applications are accepted at any time.

Application Procedure

    Students applying for a Fredi Chiappelli Travel Fellowship must submit:
  • a cover letter applying for a Chiappelli Travel Fellowship;
  • a curriculum vitae (CV);
  • a short (one-page) description of the applicant's proposed research, including how the project relates to Italian studies and why travel is necessary;
  • two letters of recommendation, one must be from the faculty member directing the student's research.
